Trying to Learn: How to knit my own super hero costume out of clippings and cast-offs from the craft room
Perfect Saturday Morning: Just getting in from an invigorating Friday night
D.I.Y. or Etsy: Sometimes, D.I.Y. I'm a two-drink social crafter. But mostly Etsy. I try to make as little as possible in order to support our American craftspeople.
Dream Kitchen: I'm seeing black subway tile, high windows, double farmhouse sinks and a range top island that looks out over the living area and is large enough to accommodate several take-out bags.
Biggest Occupational Hazard: This prompt feels like a trap. I'm swinging over it in my unfinished superhero costume.
Best Occupational Perk: Having an occupation. Also, advocating for independent musicians on our blogs and working with some wonderfully creative and talented people who are always looking for ways to build a better mousetrap. They've inspired me to be more creative in my dinner entertaining, my crafting, and even my cubicle decorating.
Work Uniform: I'd say "shabby chic," but I think many of my co-workers would agree that "chic" is too generous. Maybe "Law and Order hand-me-downs."
First Time Meeting Martha: We were both entering an aisle at the same time from different angles. I tried to let Martha go first, but she insisted that I do. It was a pleasant and smiley exchange.
Most Un-Martha Trait: It's hard to pick just one. What did Martha say in her survey about me? How is she most not like Marli?
Go-To Dish: Pasta Pomodoro, or chicken Milanese served over an arugula and pine nut salad with crispy roasted potatoes and carrots -- some of my mom's best, simplest dishes and some of my own.
Favorite Living Recipe: Basic Bread Stuffing. I added Italian sausage.
Favorite Living Crafts: Halloween zombie jack o' lanterns and Decorative paper lanterns.
Favorite Living Technique: Recently, I used Charlotte March's technique for poaching eggs, and they came out perfectly. Served them for brunch over sauteed garlic and spinach on sourdough toast, with prosciutto and fresh melon.
Recipe Follower or Improviser: Impro-follower, like my mom. I'll take a recipe and tweak it.
Family: Dog, Tennessee Chicken Willow. Cat, Eponymous Bosch
Coolest Thing My Pet Has Taught Me: Anything can be a snack if you aren't picky.

In the window of bookmaker Angela Liguori’s studio, in the Boston area, stacks of colorful ribbons tantalize passersby like bins of gelato in her native Rome, where Liguori’s mother, a seamstress, weaned her on the beautiful, the tactile, and the tailored. At the workbench where Liguori sews pure, rich materials into books that her customers [...]

Feel like you don’t seem exciting enough to your social media followers? Go to the mall with $50 to buy a pair of shoes, and “heading out to help replenish Brazilian rainforest” could be a relatively unscrupulous but not entirely inaccurate tweet or status. For the second year, Etnies is supporting a reforestation project called [...]
